World Association for the Development of Philately (WADP) http://www.wnsstamps.ch/en
The World Association for the Development of Philately (WADP) is a partnership of all the major stakeholders in the philatelic industry. The WADP provides a strategic forum for the Posts and their partners in the philatelic industry to develop and promote philately worldwide. Its constituent members are:

Universal Postal Union (UPU)

International Federation of Philately (FIP)

International Federation of Stamp Dealers Associations (IFSDA)

International Publishers' of Postage Stamp Catalogues, Stamp Albums and Philatelic Publications Association (ASCAT)

International Federation of Philatelic Journalists (AIJP)

Intergraf (International Confederation of the Printing and Allied Industries)

The main objectives of the WADP are:

  • To promote stamp collecting worldwide;
  • Seminars for Postal Administrations based on the Guide for the Development of Philately;
  • Strengthening the UPU's Philatelic Code of Ethics, a recommendation to Postal Administrations to maintain sound stamp issuing policies;
  • Actions against illegal postage stamp issues with the introduction of the World Numbering System.

How to Find Stamp Images on the World Wide Web:
Google Image Search Try Google's Image Search by clicking on the Images link above Google's search box, type in the name of the country whose stamp images you are looking for, plus “stamps”, or “postage stamps” (e.g., if you are looking for stamps of Afghanistan, type in the words “Afghanistan stamps” or “Afghanistan postage stamps.” )

WADP Numbering System (WNS)
http://www.wnsstamps.ch/en/ (For stamps from 2002 to the present. This site is also available in French, Russian, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese.)

Developed by the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and the World Association for the Development of Philately (WADP), the WADP Numbering System (WNS) was introduced on January 1, 2002 to create a database of all authentic postage stamps issued by UPU member countries and territories on or after that date. The goal is for the WNS to become the central point of reference against which stamp issues can be verified, supporting the legal philatelic market by endorsing those stamps that are genuine. Only those postage stamps that have undergone the process of verification of authenticity and registration by the International Bureau (IB) of the UPU will be assigned a WNS number and added to the WNS website. The WNS website is therefore a reference tool and a control, by omission, of stamps that have been issued illegally and labels that are claimed to be stamps. The WNS is one of the tools the UPU has introduced, helping the Posts and the philatelic market as a whole to combat this problem.
